Viewing this Site

This site features a number of large diagrams. When diagrams are more than about 650 pixels in width you will see a link that will open a new browser window with the large diagram. The site reads well in on a screen 1024 pixels wide and is still fairly usable on a screen as narrow as 800 pixels width. This is at the expense of potential window clutter as you open large diagrams in separate windows.

Please come back from time to time and look for expanded or revised content and new sections! Each page will be stamped with a revision date in its lower left corner. Keep in mind that this site is an unfunded professional activity. Scheduled dates for improved content are not a commitment and are subject to the contributors' availability.

Navigating this Site

Within this site there are two types of links that provide supporting information:

• The symbol, , indicates that the preceding word or phrase has a popup definition associated with it. Click on the associated hyperlink to get the definition in a popup browser window along with an example of the term. This window will close itself when you leave the page with the popup link.
• The symbol, , indicates a link to a sidebar discussion. Sidebar discussions amplify on a point made in the main text flow. Follow sidebar links when you want more detail. When you have finished reading the sidebar, follow the [back to ...] link to return where you left off in the main flow.

Finally, links out of this site are shown with the icon. Clicking on a label with this icon adjacent to it will open a new browser window and take you to the referenced external site.
