Category

A category is a group of objects that share important characteristics that are prototypical of the category. Users (humans) establish the prototypical characteristics of naturalistic categories through an averaging of the characteristics of observed instances.

Example: Bird

A moderate-sized creature with feathered wings, a beak, and clawed feet. A robin is very close to the prototypical bird.
